The good with the bad
Well, yesterday was the funeral for my grandmother. She was 94 years old when she died on New Years day. While yesterday was not a happy day, it did make me realize that I was definitely luckier then a lot of people.
There are many of our loved ones that are taken from us without warning. Whether it's an accident or natural cause, we don't have the opportunity to see or speak with them before they are gone. I was lucky enough to have seen my grandmother one last time on Christmas day and to tell her that I love her.
On a related note, while I was writing this post I was reminded of a blog post of one of my friends (written before I knew her). Please give it a read when you get a moment http://naanad.info/. The theme of the post is something that I've heard from multiple people before, but worth repeating.
